Sebago Lake Area, Maine

This is home.

I (Alyssa) grew up in Raymond, Maine until I moved to Florida for high school, so going back to where I’m from is always exciting, emotional, fun…everything. It’s everything.

Quaker’s Ridge, Hacker’s Hill

Maine Wildlife Park, Gray ME

We took a trip to the Maine Wildlife Park in Gray, Maine. We used to take field trips here as a kid- but you’re never too old to go look at some animals!

This cougar was our favorite for so many reasons.

Rattlesnake Mountain

We also took a trip to Rattlesnake Mountain for a little hike the Bri-Mar trial, although it was a little drizzly and very foggy out.

The trail is fairly easy, but I would be careful in late fall as the leaves on the trail + rain made it pretty slippery and required some attention not to slip and fall. The view from the top was pretty great, and the trees were really giving a show with their fall colors.

Because we were up in Maine in fairly rural areas, this meant we had to wear the orange vests to notify hunters to maybe not shoot us.

Fisherman’s Net, Gray ME

Hands down, the best lobster rolls we have had in a really long time- maybe ever? We ordered two, both with lemon butter. Just plump juicy lobster and the perfect amount of fresh lemon and some melted butter on perfectly toasted buns. Thats it. Holy cow they were amazing and perfect in every way. Oh, and we followed those up with a chocolate peanut butter whoopie pie…wicked good.

Bob’s Seafood, Windham ME

Probably the best place to get some perfectly fried fresh seafood- Bob’s. I am not a fried seafood gal- I’d much rather it raw, steamed, sautéed… anything but fried. But not here. The scallops are always huge and lightly fried with the perfect seasonings. And the clams. Oh man the clams. Whole-bellied fried to perfection. Never overcooked. Never chewy.
