Boothbay, Maine
Boothbay may be one of the Mainest Maine towns, as far as the touristy side of Maine is concerned. Its charming, nautical, friendly, full of fishing boats and great seafood.
The downtown, although very touristy, it was still fun to walk around and poke around the quirky little shops.
We stayed the night at Boothbay Craft Brewery- the owners are campers themselves and have sites set up in the parking lot with plug-ins- yaaay!! The brewery itself was also very unique. It was very woodsy, log cabiny and everything looked handmade. Loved it.
The beer was also delicious. Richard’s favorite was the Thirsty Botanist Juicy IPA.
While there are so many wonderful places to eat in Boothbay, there were too many to choose from and we were just dying to eat some lobster, and only some lobster. So we went to Pinkham’s Seafood (it’s now Pinkham’s Gourmet Market and looks much fancier than when we visited) and bought two live lobsters and had them cook them right there- so easy! And sooo delicious. How had we gone so long being in Maine without having a whole lobster? How???
