Brown’s Orchard
I don’t know if I can explain how much I loved Brown’s Orchard.
The people there- love them. The little cafe- delicious. The apple cider- amazing. The pumpkins-perfect. The DESSERT- yes please.
Upon parking our little home in the back of the strange parking lot in the middle of the night in the countryside of Pennsylvania, it’s safe to say we did not expect much and could only see a big barn looking thing in the middle of no where. However, when we woke up in Loganville, PA, the view alone took our breath away.
We also woke up to a “Good morning! Our cafe is open for breakfast. Let me know if you’d like a tour of the farm!” text message from the manager of the Orchard. Honestly, we planned on grabbing something quick to eat and hitting the road, but after glancing around all the goodies this place had, we decided it was worth sticking around.
The small cafe inside had yummy homemade breakfast sandwiches and fancy coffee. Fall is the PERFECT time to visit if you’re obsessed with everything pumpkin, because everything IS pumpkin. And I personally love it. I would highly recommend stopping by for breakfast in the cafe if you’re even a little bit in the area- it is fun, creative and fresh food.
If pumpkin isn’t your thing, perhaps apples are. During our backstage tour of the Orchard, Richard and I were both impressed not only at the number of different apples, but the scrutiny each apple goes under before it gets a spot on the Brown’s Orchard’s shelves. Only the prettiest and best apples make the cut.
Pro-tip: There is a backroom area where the less-than-perfect fruits and veggies are sold for a fraction of the price.
Want some incredibly fresh apple cider? Yes please. During our tour around apple heaven, the nice fellas making the apple cider generously let us have some of the freshly made cider, and it was delicious. The amount of cider this seemingly small business produces was mind-boggling. We stared at the production line in awe watching one gallon after the other get filled up and move down the line.
Last but not least, the desserts. Oh my the desserts. First, everything is made from scratch daily. Daily. It was unbelievable the care and love put into every little thing Brown’s Orchard sold.
I mean come on. It took every ounce of self control not to just grab a piece and shove it in my mouth. They had so many delicious flavors of these fluffy pieces of cake.
Not to mention…
The Almond Joy Delight. It was magnificent and I wanted to eat the whole tray.
In addition to the homemade goodies made daily, they also had a huge store of unique jelly, relishes, salsas, syrups and any type of condiment or pickled vegetable you could think of.
This was one of my favorite farm stands/orchards we came across on our journey- and believe me, there were a TON. Brown’s really set the bar high.
